Get an Automatic Vacuum

This is especially helpful if your dog sheds a lot and you can’t seem to keep up. Invest in an automatic “robot” vacuum that you can program to vacuum around your house at regular intervals. You’ll be able to rest easy knowing that someone is cleaning up that hair and other dirt from the floors – even when you aren’t home!

Wash Doggie Items

Things like beds, toys, collars, and leashes get dirty over time and can start to smell. Wash anything that is machine washable when it starts to look dirty or smell. If you can’t put something in the machine, then give it thorough cleaning in the sink and let it air-dry outside on a sunny day.

Bathe Your Dog Often

Clean dogs lead to clean homes, so don’t wait until your dog is covered in mud to bathe them. Just giving your dog a quick rinse with plain water every couple of weeks will go a long way towards keeping your house clean. You should give your dog a thorough bath with pet shampoo made for cleaning animals at least once every 2-3 months.

Wipe Your Dog’s Paws Regularly

Use a pet wipe to wipe off your dog’s paws every time they come in from the outdoors to keep them from tracking dirt around the house. You can also place a doormat by each entrance that your dog uses. Your dog will wipe off at least some of the outdoor grime by walking across it and you can take care of the rest with a pet wipe.
